Can I hook a limiter onto my iPod?

How much would one cost?

I don't really know of such products in the consumer range. Here's a nice catalogue of broadcast-grade limiters: http://www.canford.co.uk/commerce/resources/catdetails/2864.pdf

Additionally, Chu Moy (of Cmoy fame) shows how to build a DIY limiter for your headphone amp: http://www.headwize.com/projects/limiter_prj.htm

Any commercial limiter for sale in singapore? Cheap one....

I don't get it.. are they not called impedance adaptor? ..and there you go, volume is limited.. then again, you'll be maxing out on your player's volume once again.. or get an high impedance adaptor that even at you player's max, volume is normal..

Hey this is quite neat. I don't have an iTouch anymore though...wonder how well it works...

But I'd also like to throw in my $0.02 about this subject. Personally I noticed that since using IEMs, once I actually take them out of my ears the ambient noise level on the bus/train seems a lot higher than my music volume. So in that sense I feel quite confident that the volume level I was listening at should be quite safe. It's definitely not scientific, but better than nothing if you really have no idea how to quantify your listening levels.
