600 ohm is much better details and cleaner, mids r not so recessed and very deep bass than 250 ohms
provided it is still very hard to drive....
after recabled and modding, Grin no more sibliances, very deep and slamming!!! bass and mids r more forward due to the dual entry cables used.....fuller bottom end and very easily to match with any amp
just a right mixture for my beyer....the pads opens the dynamic range of beyer and tamed the highs considerably
i can listen to my beyer straight for 4 hours staight without any fatigue and my ears doesn't get hot and sweat
a great improvement  Grin

Sep90, may I know what amp do you use to drive this 600ohm DT880? I have the 250ohm version, was thinking if it's worth the upgrade from 250ohm to the 600ohm version. So far, I've tested both and I can't tell much difference between the two especially the bass department.

i using audio good phoenix to drive my power hungry cans
the dt880 250 after listening for quite some time, i found it the mids and body lacking and it is quite slow to my taste
the 600 ohms fixed the mids and body by giving more bass depth
however the 600 ohms it is a monster to drive and very hard to pair with it...certain solid state amp able to drive it well
on the tube sides,it has overall good synergy with them because 600 ohms has uncanny/sparkling treble and piercing highs
u may need to try with some tubes amp or it's amp the beyer A1 itself to know it's driving capacities
