Have you thought that the jays might have reached it's lifespan early?
one year and a half if i'm not mistaken, and that time i always used the magnum.. and for sure it's not always happen on all earphone, my other earphones are working fine with magnum
Then why are you saying that it's the magnum's fault? none of my earphone broke that fast, it started changing sound at 11 months, and broke at one and a half year. yeah because it has broke 2 of my friend's earphones, and they're charging me. it's just a REMINDER btw. I am confused by the line in bold. I wouldn't call it a reminder because I don't think anyone has experienced this before... Correct me if I'm wrong

But in the first place do you hear your q-jays bass distorting when you turn the bass up too high?
you mean the bass or the volume? because the bass level were always maximum, but i never turn the volume too high since it would hurt my ears

when it clips, it has some good amount of DC power which will burn the coils inside the drivers. every amplifier if clipping will produce DC power as well.

thread starter. care to explain what do u mean by spoilt.
is it.
-no bass? -no sound? -severe distortion?
and chesterqw is right about clipping. magnum uses 9v battery power supply.
and if ts hearing clipping. it means he has pushed the volume beyond what the amplifier can handle.
means ts is pushing 9 volts into his earphones. and he can hear the "clipping".
may i know what source the threadstarter is using?
it may be possible that the source has dc offset already, the bassboost will tend to increase the dc offset, especially when the bass is turned up to the max.
a mere harmless 1mv of dc offset may be boosted by the amp to more than 20mv, which is considered harmful to iems already.
it may also be possible that other earphones are more tolerant to dc offset.
it can be concluded that these factors contribute to damage to threadstarter's earphones.

cannot be , i burn in my crossroads at almost full volume (3/4)at low gain for at least 96hrs straight with 1 hr break for every 23 hrs, my crossroads still work perfectly fine after almost 13months, bass still there. PS: i know burning in at high volume was stupid, just wanted to experiment with it

To the Thread Starter. Seriously if you think that GoVibe Magnum causes the earphones to blow, any amplifier that you use will also blow your earphones. Extreme high volume will cause ANY earphones to blow. Higher volume means higher current passing through, everything there's a limit. It's like you bought a Electronics with 110V required voltage and you plug into our local plugs of course the Electronics will blow. Same theory applies.
So please do not blame the amplifier, blame it on how you use it.
