Hi to all,
Here are the pics of the newly arrived Go-Vibe Petite+DAC

These are what's included in the kit.

Size is ever so slightly smaller than a credit card / Transitlink card.

Front panel

Front panel with power on -- cool switch man.

Back of amp with panel removed to show the four AAA batteries.

Am burning in the amp now so wait for a short review....

the chassis looks extremely similar to that of the hornet, even the switch is identical. Wonder if its possible to charge while using?

Looks like it comes with a USB DAC built-in? Can this be charged from the USB input?

Preliminary listening - when I first got the amp, I compared it to an AlienDAC-PINT combo driving Yuins PK2 and ATH-CK9. Initial impression was, sounds a little more mellow than my PINT, just a little less transparent. I felt then that it did not seem to match both phones very well. BTW - both DAC uses the same PCM chip.

At the office today, I used my Grado SR60 with it and it blew me away. As I suspected, it matches extremely well with more dynamic phones. So much more transparent and air around the instruments were more evident.

Going back to the Yuins revealed that the amp is burning in and sounds more transparent now than last night but still a just little less dynamic than the Grados. But that's the sound signatures of the phones anyway. I am sure the amp will continue to improve as it burns in more.

I tried it yesterday and wow it's GOOD. Just a bit too bassy when matches with E500, maybe it has not burned just yet. Smiley

I tried the go-vibe Petite and I must say the following Smiley

It is revealing and has an instant uplifting sound stage. Background is quiet and the overall separation is excellent. The high frequencies were, to me, a tad harsh with some recordings. This must be due to the transparency of the amp itself. The mid range is really nice and lovely. The attack/pace/speed of the amp is very good to excellent. Smiley Lovely.

The go-vibe Petite DAC is similar in quality. But, I found that the one I listened to was a little more engaging and the sibilance more controlled.

I listened to a range of recordings ranging from sweet oriental female vocals to Tutti reference symphony pieces and pop using my ipod video with crossroads idock line out and jaben IC. I used the Alessandro MS-1 headphones.

To me, the go vibe petite is great value for money. Smiley
Thanks Uncle Wilson, for letting me test the amps out!

OMG! Another poison. This look like the perfect companion for my office use. Got to find some time to go down and try.
