Going HK for a short break.

Anything worth buying? Audio-equipment-wise....

Go online to check or check some audio mags from HK.  HK lots to buy but also lots of fakes so be careful.  Prices I feel not much different depending on exchange but great to get stuff that is not available in Singapore. Like some stuff from China and some exotic tubes stuff.

I had a great time going to the shops but they can be Put if you don't buy. I didn't buy anything the last couple of times I was there.  I found it too much of a hassle.  But the HK audiophiles can also be a hard core bunch of people.

Good luck hunting.

I was mostly in Kowloon Mong kok area.  Saw a few shops selling headphones but I was not looking for them. The higher end showrooms if I am not wrong is on Hong Kong Island itself. I believe Jaben also have a branch in Hong Kong which you can look up. I just liked the passion of the audiophiles there.  I remember walking into a shop (basement of some building) where they sell only tubes. Like the wand shop in Harry Porter with boxes of tubes on dusty selves. The owner saw me coming in and told me if I am to talk digital or solid state, then I should just leave the shop.  Passion for their love.  Sizzling.  Enjoy.
