Was wondering if anyone knows how to replace the HD for an ipod Photo, because recently my imod died on me due to the HD failure. Was thinking of changing to SD card instead for a longer batt life. Please PM me if you know anyone who knows how to do so. Thanks!

PM'ed you. You can try Sim Lim top floor or 1 or 2 floor down as there are 2 shops doing the change of batteries for ipod.

Normally, when you buy a replacement battery, it will come with 2 plastic ply-ers, which are critical to "ply" open the ipod.

This is not very difficult if you know where and how to open it, but my first experience with a very old ipod was disastrous, and it ended becoming spare parts to my other ipods.

Don't try opening the first time with a good condition set, as the chances is very high for you to scratch the body and break all the clips holding the 2 top and bottom casing together.

In case you break the 2 plastic ply-ers provided in the battery packs (either blue or green in colour), you can look for plastic ply-ers at Sim Lim Tower. Not sure if they still carry any, but I bought a nice one 2 years ago there.

Good luck!

Never tried iPad. Looks more challenging with whole piece aluminium.

Think you might want to get some quote for repairs from apple first and check the shops at Sim Lim.

I am guessing that the quotation may induce you to buy a new iPad instead?
