Missing the predator.....

« on: August 18, 2008, 08:00:45 PM »

which iems are good for the petites? planning to get a pair of iems.

i listen to all sort of musics, prefer more bass but i don't like it muddy.

any recomendations?
budget wise will be around 350.
anyway i'll just go down jaben to try. but i just want some headsup on  iems to try.

P.S. I got no idea if this should be in the IEMS section or the go-vibe section.
pardon my noobness.

Maybe you should state your budget as well? Would be a better gauge of what we should recommend you incase someone comes along as poisons you  Lips Sealed

Strong bass but not muddy would be superfi 5EB?

What earphones are you using now? I used to have a Petite with Westone UM2, and the combination was quite good. It's bass quantity should please you.

Honestly I didn't like the UM1 because back then I didn't try them with Shure olives. The Westones change drastically with different tips, so you should experiment with as many tips as you can. When I tried the olives with the UM2, it was amazing. The biggest difference is probably the bass, it's deep and punchy without being muddy with the right amp.

if you prefer more bass i guess you should try to up your budget for the um2 as kchew has suggested, which is slightly above your budget. alternatively you can wait for the futuresonics m5/m8 to arrive at jaben.

Good choice, I was in the same boat as you before and it was a very close fight between the SF5pro and the UM2 with the Petite. Enjoy your rig! Wink

i feel the petite is a rather warm amp, sort of dark too - a little more towards the bass. So best that it is paired with a neutral / bright earphone, ie er6.
