Yea... But most consumer still have the full knowledge of camera technology...
I'm one of them actually, half a year ago, I was amazed by the amount of MPs the cameras and handphones were having... Now, you have to test it to know it.

It'll be a waste on a mobile phone if you don't have a lens that does the sensor justice.

Sony is laggy. Sometimes cause the phone to hang. But I heard it has improved these years. However, the problems still persists.
And yes... camera modules in camera phones are getting larger. But the details of the photo are still not quite good in camera phones. You still can see noises... and unexpected purple- or blue- imges on some super shiny objects. Or some the colors are good, but grainy(like samsung Pixon, 8 megapixel). I think they should improve on all these instead.
You see... apple launch their iphone based on their multi-touch technology. The phone is so popular is because its the touch that is friendly and unique. I can imagine if canon is going to produce a true camera phone, all the other phone manufacturer will be hit once more.

oops... yes... But then nowadays the functions of camera phones are pretty wide. Recently I recontract my and for got this new phone for my dad... Samsung Pixon. Whatever functions you could think of are in there. Paranoma is pretty decent, and macro mode is good too. Various scenes or you can customize the white balances. Ahh~ really wish that is mine. LOL!
But I prefer those images from canon... I think its because of Digic III that produces such a premium quality image. Of course, my friend (who is using a canon 10 MP), says his image is lousy... which made me ponder do they need that high since they take causal pictures and do not really have such a skill?
Recently, one of my friend who is pro about all these says that actually a 4 to 5 megapixel is enough. 8 and above and actually for professionals who do photo editing, posters, close-ups and so on. It is because of the market demand by the increase number of experts that drive the market crazily soon into a 20++MP.

makes perfect sense. one of my friends told me that the len grading or quality is more important than the megapixel. if the lens grade is very good and the megapixel aint too low, it is worth buying over those with more megapixel but lower len quality.
