hey Habba, do you think the 18G will fit well, or would the 22G be easier to work with?
I'm guessing the 22G is more flexible, so that helps a lot even when I'm not moving around with the headphones.

I should be heading to jaben tomorrow to check out some amps. so basically you used a total of 16ft of cable (both jena and sxc) for recabling? what's happening now is that I'm thinking of doing a nice stretch of DIY (zero DAC franken mod, DIYmod, d5000 recable, DIYmod w blackgates etc etc) as a side hobby of sorts, so I'm figuring out my cable options. So I guess you're suggesting jena 18G throughout ( cabling etc)? And maybe a little bit of sxc or some random cable to be ground - the ground shouldnt' be affect by the quality of the cable as long as it's not made of worthless material? It's going to be a while before I start so I'm reading up quite a bit, but first hand advice is always more than welcome (helping me do mods even moreso, haha). Don't think I can make it down to Jaben tomorrow... thanks for the offer!  |

I myself have done the DIYmod, Denon recable thus i will be here to help. I've nv seen the 18G jena labs, but from the looks of the 22G, i'm guessing the 18G jena labs should be around the same thickness as the 22G ALO SXC, You'll need to force it in A bit. I think the ground does affect the sound, as the drivers of my D2000, their signal and gnd are shorted together, I'm guessing there's a diode in between, thus the ground will affect the signature A bit. The mods will be A bit messy, but i'll should be able to help in my free time. |
