Just had the worst juice from the worst juice stand in Singapore . Normally I get my lunch at Lau Pa Sat and buy some herbal ice tea. I like fruit juice but the stand there is horribly expensive. $3 for a cup of watered down carrot juice when I can make the same at home for 50 cents, without the water and ice! The kiwi juice I got today was downright revolting. They didn't use the juicemaker but just chucked a few pieces of kiwi with a lot of water and ice in a blender. Didn't even strain it so the hard bits were still in there. Then they asked if I wanted sugar. What's the use of a healthy fruit juice if you're going to put sugar in it? After tasting it I understood; with 3/4 water the taste of the kiwi wasn't even there anymore. Just a sour undertone. I'll definitely stay away from them.

My condolences. I have stayed away from Lau Pa Sat after eating their horribly overpriced food once.

I usually buy sugarcane juice when I eat there and plan to buy other fruit juice next time I visit. Thanks for the headsup.

The juice stall at the Basement of Parkway Parade is equally bad. Paid $3+ for apple+orange and it's so watered down and sweet... grrrrrrrrr

I stayed away from Lau Pa Sat after going there for the first and last time last year Paid $15 bucks for an extremely small piece of stingray. It's the size of my palm I think, and had to share it with 5 friends. And $12 for a big plate of tasteless Fried Rice. >_>

My office canteen have very good fruit juice with real fruit no water / sugar added. Orange + Green Apple cost me $1.50 & I'll usually buy another cup of Papaya Milk or Banana Milk, also at $1.50

they are main for tourists... True.. after its renovated, the food stores changed.. There isn't a decent food store there already. Its probably for people who work around and tourists. If the juice store prices are exorbitant, you haven't tried the Satay stores at night..hehe.
